Hebrews 13 has a lot of good stuff packed into it. 5 words that especially stick out to me
as I ponder God’s Word this morning are “The Lord is my helper.” Let me say that again. The Lord is my
helper! THE Creator of the universe. Almighty God! King of kings and Lord of
lords!!! He is MY helper! Wow!
God tells all the descendants of Abraham (including all of
us who follow Him today because He adopted us), “…I chose you…I called you… do
not fear, for I am with you…I am your God; I will strengthen you and HELP you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:9-10
I LOVE that! What
peace it brings me to know that God is holding me with His hand. His right hand. Interesting. Take a look at verse 13: “For I am the
Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear;
I will help you.’ ”
God’s right hand takes hold of my right hand. It reminds me of a loving father
walking behind his toddler holding her left hand in his left hand and her right
hand in his right hand, helping her to walk.
Only God isn’t behind us;
He lives within us!
