Today I had the great opportunity of teaching 10 year old girls about prayer. I love how God works...this is an area I've struggled in lately. I pray often, yet something is lacking. Well, I spent some time praying about what to teach the girls, and I came up with the following simple acronym:
Praise God: what amazes you about God?
Repent of your sins and ask forgiveness: what are you sorry you've said or done?
Ask God for help: what are your prayer requests?
You thank God and say Amen! What are you thankful for?
So right now I PRAY,
Dear Lord God, I am so amazed at how big and wonderful you are. I am amazed at your great love for me. You created the flowers, the trees, the mountains, the oceans, and every single person that has ever lived. And you care about each and every one of us. You know me better than I know myself and you have a plan for my life. I stand in awe of you, Lord, and I am so grateful to be your daughter.
Lord, I am sorry for my complacency lately. I don't just want to ho-hum through life. I want to be on fire for you. I want, as Romans 2 says, to never be lacking in zeal, but to keep my spiritual fervor, serving you Lord. Will you please forgive me Lord?
God, I pray that you would fill me with your joy and strength and peace so much that it overflows and that others will see that you reign in my life. I pray that you would help me to be a blessing to others.
Heavenly Father, how I thank you for the life you have blessed me with. I am so grateful to have a loving husband and 3 darling daughters, and to be living my dream. I love you Lord, and I praise you! In Jesus' name, Amen
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever. Psalm 118:1
